Phuket in the Evening: Muay Thai, Cabaret or a Show Park?
8 min read
Phuket’s evening entertainment splits into four things that have almost nothing in common except the time of day: a fight night, a cabaret, a show park and a stage production. They are priced from €20.89 to €86.84, they run from one hour to six, and which one suits you has more to do with your group than your budget.
For most people: a Muay Thai ticket at Patong Boxing Stadium from €39.86 – 4.7 from 2,930 reviews and the evening people actually talk about afterwards. Cheapest real evening out: a Simon Cabaret ticket from €21.26 for about an hour. With children, or if you want the whole evening handled: Carnival Magic with dinner and transfer from €88.36.
The four evenings
| Ticket | From | Stated duration | Stars / reviews | What it is |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Simon Cabaret show admission | €21.26 | 1 hour | 4.5 / 580 | Costume and lip-sync revue, Patong |
| Patong Boxing Stadium Muay Thai ticket | €39.86 | not stated | 4.7 / 2,826 | Live fight card, ringside categories |
| Siam Niramit show admission | €58.73 | 80 minutes – 4 hours | 4.6 / 304 | Large-cast cultural stage show |
| Bangla Boxing Stadium Muay Thai ticket | €42.52 | not stated | 4.7 / 508 | Fight night in the middle of Bangla Road |
| Carnival Magic entry ticket | €60.27 | not stated | 4.4 / 685 | Parades, attractions, optional buffet |
Muay Thai: the one with the shortest half-life and the longest memory
Thailand’s national sport sold as an hour of your holiday. The stadium listings differ mainly in seat category – ringside, VIP, standard – and the starting price is the cheapest of those, not the ringside seat in the photograph. Read which category you are buying before you compare €39.17 with €41.79.
The two stadiums are not interchangeable. Patong Boxing Stadium is the bigger, more reviewed venue and the one the listings describe as the full ringside experience. Bangla Boxing Stadium sits on Soi Bangla itself, which is Patong’s nightlife street: an easy walk after dinner for adults, and an area most people would not walk a nine-year-old through at ten at night.
This is a full-contact fight card, not a demonstration. Nobody is pretending otherwise, and the crowd noise is a large part of why it works. If that is not the evening you want, it is genuinely not the evening you want.

There is also a cheaper way into the sport that is not a ticket at all: a Muay Thai class at a Patong gym from €13.29, one to two hours with an instructor, rated 4.9 from 445 reviews. It is the best-rated thing in this whole group and costs a third of a stadium seat.
Simon Cabaret: an hour, and the cheapest ticket on the island
A costume, music and lip-sync revue in Patong, running about an hour, and the venue that three separate listings here are all selling. Three listings sell essentially the same show at €20.89 to €21.10, with VIP or front-row seating as an upgrade – the only real decision is how close you want to sit. At that price it is the easiest evening to add to a day that already had a boat trip in it, and the only one here that finishes early enough to leave the night intact.

Carnival Magic and Siam Niramit: the evenings that eat the evening
These are not tickets, they are outings. The Carnival Magic listing with dinner and transfer states six hours; the plain entry ticket at €61.19 leaves you to arrange getting to Kathu and back. Siam Niramit sells the same way: €39.96 for admission, €43.48 with a round transfer and dinner, and that €3.52 difference is the clearest piece of pricing in this article. If a show is outside Patong, buy the version with the transfer – a taxi each way will cost more than the upgrade and will involve negotiating it at eleven at night.

Three things worth knowing before you pick
The starting price is a seat category, not the show. At the stadiums and at the cabaret, the difference between the cheapest and the best seats is bigger than the difference between two venues. Decide the category first, then compare.
Check what time it starts against what time your boat gets back. A full-day island trip is scheduled back in the late afternoon, and the gap between “we landed at five” and “doors at seven” disappears quickly once the traffic on the Patong hill is involved. An evening at Carnival Magic and a Similan day on the same date is a plan that looks fine on paper.
Ages are set by the venue, and the venue is the point. Carnival Magic is built as a family park; a fight night on Bangla Road is not. Where there is a minimum age or a children’s rate, it is on the booking page – that is the only place it is reliable.
The recommendation: if you want one evening that feels like Thailand rather than like a holiday resort, book the Patong Boxing Stadium ticket and pay up a category for a seat you can see from. Travelling with children, book Carnival Magic with dinner and transfer instead. On a tight budget, an hour of Simon Cabaret at €21.26 beats a quiet night at the hotel bar. All current evening listings are on the shows and dinner page; if your evening starts at a night market instead, see the city tour with night market.
